3/4 cup sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 scant teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon almond, vanilla, lemon, or mint flavoring
1/8 teaspoon salt

| Mix together all ingredients. Separate the
dough into 2-3 parts and color each part with red or green food coloring, if you
wish. Follow directions for spritz "gun," filling and dropping
cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets. Cookies can be quite close
together. Sprinkle with colored sugars, chocolate sprinkles, red hots,
etc. Bake at 400°
for 6-9 minutes or until set but not browned.
